Writing Applications Using Angular and InterSystems IRISNote:This learning path was previously titled Building Applications Using InterSystems IRIS and Angular.
Learn the basics of using Angular, a third-party framework to create front-end web application, with InterSystems products. Then develop Angular applications with InterSystems IRIS® data platform using REST.
This path contains 4 sections. One, Get oriented, 35 minutes. Two, Set Up InterSystems IRIS as the Back End, 1 hour 30 minutes. Three, Connect the Angular applications to InterSystems IRIS, 10 minutes. Four, Practice building an application, 1 hour 30 minutes.
- Learn how to set up a RESTful service in InterSystems IRIS, which allows you to create the InterSystems IRIS endpoints that your Angular application calls.
- Edit the boiler plate to display data to the user, bypassing the basic setup and allowing you to quickly begin writing your application. Then, bind controls to properties of an Angular component in the template so that data can consumed by InterSystems IRIS and displayed in the application.
- Create an application using the Angular framework for the web front-end, and serve data using InterSystems IRIS—bringing together all the skills you learned in this path. The exercise can be attempted before the learning path to test your knowledge, or at the end as a capstone exercise.
