Topic outline

  • Using JDBC with InterSystems IRIS

In this video, you will learn how to use JDBC to connect your Java applications to InterSystems IRIS® data platform.

If you are already familiar with JDBC and have a JDK 1.7 or 1.8 installed, all you need to know is:

    • You can find the InterSystems IRIS driver in an install of InterSystems IRIS under \dev\java\lib\JDK1x\intersystems-jdbc-3.0.0.jar, where JDK1x is either JDK17 or JDK18, the currently supported JDK versions.
    • The name of the driver in this jar file is com.intersystems.jdbc.IRISDriver.
    • The URL (connection string) is jdbc:IRIS://ipAddress:superserverPort/namespace.

This video will walk through a demonstration of how to use these in your Java applications.
