Determine settings and configuration options needed when building an X12 production with the InterSystems IRIS® Interoperability engine. In this exercise, you will build an X12 production using the graphical tools in the Management Portal. This production will process incoming HIPAA X12 messages, pass them through a message router, and forward them onto a business operation.
You will also test batch handling options to understand how they affect the path of nested X12 messages through a production, and view the message trace for each option to see how a production handles bundled message structures based on configuration. Finally, you will test Strategic National Implementation Process (SNIP) validation levels 1 and 2 by passing noncompliant messages into the production.
The production you configure in this exercise handles and routes incoming messages from health delivery networks. Specifically, the production handles incoming HIPAA_5010:270 eligibility inquiry messages before passing them onto health insurance, or payer, systems.
