  • Using JSON in InterSystems IRIS

    Welcome to Using JSON in InterSystems IRIS. This course contains four instructional lessons, plus several opportunities to apply what you've learned in hands-on exercises. The videos and simulations in this course are best if viewed full screen.

    In this course, you will learn how to work with JSON data in InterSystems IRIS. You will learn how to both consume JSON data from an upstream system to use in your application, and produce a JSON string from dynamic entities. You will also learn to build in error handling.

    As you move through this course, you will build an application that allows patrons to rate a restaurant, and then adds their reviews to existing reviews retrieved from Google Places.

    Prerequisite Learning or Experience  Proficiency in InterSystems ObjectScript is required for this course.

    Audience  This course is intended for developers who have experience with InterSystems ObjectScript and want to learn how to handle JSON in InterSystems IRIS using dynamic entities.

    Learning Objectives  By the end of this course, you will be able to:

    • Consume JSON data and create dynamic entities.
    • Create dynamic entities to produce JSON data.
    • Troubleshoot and incorporate error handling when using dynamic entities.
